NOTICE OF POSTPONEMENT OF EKITI MARATHON 2022
We are sorry to announce that the EKITI MARATHON 2022 has been postponed to April 2023 due the ongoing power transition and the delayed appointment of relevant approving officers in Ekiti State. The race which was first of its kind in Ekiti State was slated to hold on the 17th of December, 2022.
We have tried to put everything in place to organize a great event. Our route are fully measured, the marathon kits are ready, We continue to sign elite runners both foreign and local, the number of ordinary people willing to run or walk on the marathon continues to grow and our marathon and Gopadi are fully live and running.
We have tried everything within our means to see that we do not postpone this event but this is beyond what we can handle. So we have reluctantly decided that it would be sensible to postpone the event until April 2023.
To the runners we would like to apologise for the inconveniences caused because of the postponement. We know how hard many of you trained for the event and for those who have booked hotels and flights, we feel your frustration and disappointment, we are genuinely sorry for the disappointment caused. Postponement in the future (if any) will be communicated early enough to reduce inconveniences.
For athletes outside the state, we are sure that the running kit will be available in the week when the marathon will hold. In the mean time, we will re-launch the virtual marathon in the first week of January to allow all participant earn points and win weekly prices in preparation for the final physical marathon. Again, we regret the inconveniences, please accept the assurances of our excellent service, your safety and commitment to the success of the marathon.
For runners who have paid for the running kits please be informed that kits are still available for pickup at the following locations in Ekiti State.
